Every student deserves the chance to love school. They deserve the opportunity to flourish, and learn, and fill their little brains with as much information as they can hold- not because of testing, or higher standards, or even a changing world- but because they WANT to. I want my students to love learning just as much as I love teaching, and in a high-poverty area, it can prove to be extremely difficult. Kids deal with so much outside of the classroom, and often have the weight of the world on their shoulders. All I want to do is take that weight off for 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, and create a learning sanctuary where every student feels smart, feels important, feels cared for, and feels safe. We're on our way there- but we're going to need a little help!

About my class
