My students are grades K-5. All receive Special Education services under the category of Emotional Disturbance. My kids are kind, amazing children that struggle with social skills and self-control. To some they are the "difficult", or the "behavior" kids, but to me they are the world!!! ------------------------------- In this class, students do a blend of academics and resiliency skills. Our classroom has 2 full-time aides, and myself. We focus on: *competence* *character* *coping* *control* *confidence* *connection* *work ethic* We are a family of learners that support one another. In our class we celebrate the little things, and work through the big. We talk about our feelings in neutral ways, to learn to express ourselves in safe, acceptable ways. The end goal for each student in this class is full integration into mainstream general education. Every year at least 2 students succeed in this!
