Hello! I am a 4th grade teacher at a mid size public school in Northern California. The school is set right outside of the city limits, so during a lesson, we often hear the neighbors cow lowing or a rooster crowing. The area that the school serves is considered low income, with generational poverty and has a high number of English Learners. While this combination may seem difficult, the students come to class ready and eager to learn. They are fascinated with things we take for granted, such as having a magnifying glass to look at a rock, harvesting plants in the school garden or painting on actual watercolor paper. I come to work each day inspired by each one of their faces, because they have such a thirst for knowledge and a huge love of learning. My goal is to provide them the best education possible, and to teach them about the world around them.
