About my class

Go on a trip to the Egyptian Pyramids or observe the queen bee in her hive! View the skeletal system of the human body or visit diverse communities near and far! We’ll be the modern-day class of Miss Frizzle, as we take daily trips around the globe. Our classroom will be bustling with peer collaboration and conversation all while maintaining proper social distancing. As we prepare to return to face-to-face instruction, the endless possibilities of virtual reality will have my students excited and gaining unrivaled experiences in a world full of change. A class set of virtual and augmented reality equipment (Google Expeditions Kit) will bring the field trips and unforgettable learning experiences to my students, in a time where traditional field trips may be a thing of the past. Donations to this project will allow my students to make connections to content taught during reading, science, and social studies. Almost all content taught in these areas can be enhanced with a Google Expedition or augmented reality (3D) model for observation. Students will gain rich background knowledge and first-hand views in so many areas. The educational experience of my class and future cohorts of students will be forever changed! The inclusion of the Google Expeditions Kit will make a potentially daunting school year the most epic yet!
