The flashlights are for our fun Friday activities to encourage the students to read more. The students are encourage to go under their desk and read. Having the lights off is fun for them. The toys and pencils are for awards when students do great on test, or if they have a good day/week. The markers are to make learning more colorful. I want to give my students every chance possible to succeed in life. So by encouraging them with being able to read under their desk for 30 minutes with a flashlight or giving them prizes for their learning and behavior seems like a great idea to me.
