As the first classroom that my students enter when they move to the United States, I want to provide the most welcoming, warm, and kind space possible. In order to do so, there are many classroom basics that I am in need to to jump start my students' educational journeys. In order to create a fulfilling and productive environment, I'm asking for many basic classroom things as well as student-specific items that certain students need in order to best work on their fine-motor and writing skills. Items like a small pen nib and dry erase boards will allow my students to practice their writing as some are still learning their alphabet and numbers. In order to support their prolonged writing and reading goals, we're requesting laminator sheets so that they are able to see their work hung from the walls throughout the year! My students love to work on the board with me and as such, they go through far more markers than one person can sustainably purchase, so we're asking for extra markers to support their collaborative work! With the help of kind donors and future classroom friends, I hope that when my newcomer students enter my classroom that they find a space where they can follow their individualized paths to success. In order to support their work, I need help in providing the necessary resources for long-term success in their language learning and content progress. When I look at my students, I see aspiring artists, law officers, athletes, writers, doctors, and so much more. As I guide them through middle school and beyond I hope that my students always have the materials they need to get them to where they want to be and hope to do so through this project.
