In order for my students with Autism to be successful, they need the right tools and supports. My students need colored organizing bins to keep track of their materials and be independent. Our classroom needs the magnetic pockets to help organize our calendar and other materials. Students with autism need very concrete ways of doing things and through manipulating these tiles they are working multiple parts of their brain and gaining a greater understanding of the concept. They need letter and number construction tiles to work on basic literacy and number sense. These skills will help them grow as individuals and become independent and unique members of our society.
