The rug in our classroom is used daily during our three “experiences” of the day. We start and end our day here. We learn about many things on our rug (the letters of the alphabet, our numbers and how to count, days of the week, our special class songs, how to treat our friends, what feelings are and how to express them). Most importantly we become a family on our rug. This particular rug will allow us to sit in a circle so that we can all face each other throughout the lesson. We learn from our friends in pre-k so it is important that we are seated in a way that promotes our interactions.
