During class, students are always asking why we are learning certain math and science concepts. We always discuss real-life examples at the beginning of each concept, but sometimes the students need to see it in print. The students joke with me often and tell me that I am making stuff up when I am teaching them math or science concepts. When the students see it in print, they will usually bring it to me and say that I already mentioned this to them. I tell them that it is important to learn the skills, so they can understand the world around them.
