There are multiple advantages in providing a variety of seating arrangements. When students are given the choice of where to sit, they will take charge of their learning while shying away from the traditional desk and chair. Students work on responsibility and safety skills in order to earn flexible seating options. Chair bands, disc seats and stability balls, allow the students' to complete their best work comfortably. Dry erase clipboards will allow students to work on assignments at different parts of the room without having to stay confined to their desk all day. Book bins will allow them to "travel with their work" and work on the organization component of AVID. With flexible seating, students work more effectively as there are less disruptions. Another advantage to the resources are that they are mobile and can be placed wherever the student feels they can complete their best work. These resources would allow us to Bounce Through Tercero (third grade).
