Students are engaging in Project Based Learning and exploring how light helps us communicate our culture. Students are learning about illumination, and how we can use light to communicate. Fourth and Fifth graders will construct a variety of closed circuits that produce light with Snap Circuits 300-in 1. It lays the foundation to be able to construct closed circuits with light emitting diodes, copper tape, and coin cell batteries in objects, dioramas, and posters that they will use to share about their culture. They will fulfill the Performance Expectation from the Next Generation Science Standards: Make observations to provide evidence that energy can be transferred from place to place by light, electric currents, and sound.
