Hands on projects are some of the best ways to engage young learners. It gives them a great opportunity to problem solve as a group and individually. This creates amazing opportunities for vocabulary development, social-emotional development and higher order thinking skills! S.T.E.M projects kick off so much practice in different learning domains it's hard to pick just a few.
Currently in my classroom we do these hands on projects as much as we can. However, our supplies are limited. We started off the school year with pretty empty cupboards and a minimal classroom budget for all the basic supplies we would need. Over the course of the year I have worked hard to gather various materials for my students to work with. That being said purchasing individual materials has become too expensive for me to do alone. I need your help to give my students more opportunities!
My goal with these new materials is to have bi-weekly S.T.E.M activities. These activities would take our current curriculum and add the extra layer of team problem solving. I am so excited to be able to provide my students more opportunities to grow their scientific minds!
