The hand lenses will be used many times throughout the school year: during our plant life cycle unit, observing rocks in the solar system unit, butterfly unit, etc. A butterfly classroom kit would give students the opportunity to study and grow butterflies, and and then release them outside. Students will be completing a unit on the sun, learning about the seasons and the importance of the sun to our environment. The scanner would be used to upload students' science artwork throughout the year, and put into a digital portfolio in order for each student to save paper. Classroom visuals are also used throughout our solar system unit, and with our butterfly life cycle unit. The color printer will give me the opportunity to display these visuals in a more vibrant way with more details. This would give the students the opportunity to understand the concepts presented to them with deeper understanding.
The donations for this project will provide students with more opportunities to work with their peers, and yield them more chances to dig deeper into our science topics.
