By filling my classroom library with these books, I will have mentor texts to teach from as well as books for students to borrow. Because these books are written for beginning and intermediate readers, my students will be able to access the content without the frustration of reading books that are too challenging. For my students, these books will be the gateways to new heights of imagination and other worlds of culture. These books will be readable and engaging, rather than too difficult and discouraging. These books will empower my students to be able to become young, literate citizens in our global society.

About my class
