I am a 3rd grade teacher in a school that is in one of the largest, and most socioeconomically disadvantaged school districts in California. My students face many socioeconomic disadvantages, as the majority live in multi-family homes or subsidized apartments and are English Language Learners. Despite the many disadvantages my students face, they are always eager to learn and have very high attendance. My students look forward to being the first in their family to graduate from high school and to attend college. My students are the reason I get up every day! This class is very dear and near to my heart because I grew up facing the same disadvantages as my students. My teachers provided an immense amount of support to help me succeed, now it's my turn turn to help my own students! Thank you for helping me make a difference, we truly appreciate your help, support and love for education!
