Our school curriculum is titled Discovering Our World. Within each unit we focus on changes around us, including those in our community. For our Helpers Unit I will be turing our dramatic play into a fire station, students will be dressing up in the fire suits. During Creating and Constructing we will use the construction worker vests in the block area and turn dramatic play into a bakery. The doctors kit will be used during our unit about being healthy where dramatic play turns into a doctors office. Dramatic Play gives students the chance to pretend and act out being important helpers in our communities. Our school is an Arts Integration school. We encourage art, dram, dance, and music. The dramatic play area is a great way to encourage the arts. Other skills students learn while playing in dramatic play centers include; social skill, language skills, self-help skills, and social studies.
