I want to provide students an area that is more conducive to learning, while coming together as a community, during Math, Congress, Language Groups and more. Having all of the students, including children with special needs, sitting around together comfortably is an essential component in motivating them to gather together for learning times. I am able to provide mini-lessons and observe the students more efficiently while having them all joined around me as a community of learners. I have noticed an amazing difference in learning engagement when students are in a discussion forum format. Students are more open to sharing their thinking, celebrating the "aha" moments or discussing errors and problem-solving with peers. Furthermore, having an area for gathering together in a welcoming space, as a learning community, builds trust and confidence in students including positive interactions within their learning environment
