I teach art over 800 1st and 2nd graders! My aspiring young artists are bright, creative, and VERY EXCITED about art! They are interested in learning about all types of art and eager to discover new artists and art periods. They enjoy experimenting with new materials and making colorful and imaginative artwork. I love seeing the wonderful things my smART artists create! Art teaches children how to be creative thinkers and problem solvers, and provides opportunities for collaboration with others. Art can open a child's eyes up to a world of infinite possibilities and to the idea that there are many ways to see and interpret the world around them. Art is everywhere, and touches all aspects of life.
