With these different seating options in the classroom, it will give my students the power of choice; the choice to decide where they best learn. “Students feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment.“ Different flexible seating options such as; ottomans, bean bag chairs, a couch, and new rug, within the classroom will also allow the students the opportunity to work and learn where they are most comfortable. “An uncomfortable student, is a distracted and unproductive student.” If these different flexible seating options are added to my classroom, it will allow my students both the opportunity for choice and comfort. It will also give them a welcoming and secure feel within the classroom.
