In Kindergarten, we are just beginning the enchanted journey of learning how to read. As a teacher, I want my kinders to feel a sense of eagerness, enjoyment, and most of all, a love for literature! I have learned that creating an environment that fosters safety, growth, and curiosity for learning is best for my hands-on students! My classroom theme centers on nature and subtle colors that invite students in to learn. Last year, I obtained an outdoor seating piece for my current classroom library, as well as many “real-life” trees to create a park-like atmosphere. I am hoping to add the items listed on my wishlist to enhance this learning environment. The cushioned tree stumps will bring a flexible seating feeling to this area, making children feel comfortable while reading in “nature”! The outdoor table will coordinate with my current seating piece to provide students with a flat surface to create, read, or socialize with one another. It is my hope that I can bring my love for the outdoors, inside my classroom library! Learning is most fun when it can be done in a variety of hands-on places!
