During the first week of school, I will introduce them to each of the core values of our classroom. Over a period of 7-8 weeks, we will focus on one of the values and ways that we can encompass this value in our classroom, school, and community. At the end of each week, I will pick 2 students who I believe have embodied the value for the week. Those students will then help me to choose 2 students the following week who embody the value the following week. Throughout the year we will revisit a value/values each month to remind students of the ways that they should engage with others in our classroom. The books will also be in our class library for students reference if needed.
