Growing up in a low-income community with two immigrant parents, I spent my entire eduction in the LAUSD public school system. I saw the inequity in our public school system, compared to certain charter schools or private schools...and even more so public schools serving low-income communities, with diverse social makeups. As a white individual in highly diverse public school, I was allotted certain privileges by my teachers and even my peers. I saw this and knew it was unfair. As an educator, I have dedicated my work to fighting social and educational inequity and providing ALL students with the valuable education they deserve. It is my mission to provide all children with a plethora of educational opportunities so that one day they can be the change our world so desperately needs.
