My goal is to build an inclusive and diverse classroom library for my students to learn and see themselves in. It is an understatement to say that literature is one of the most, if not the most, vital part of eduction. It is in everything that we do for our entire lives. Sadly, students, far too often, go unnoticed in children literature. As a teacher, I strive to be better than what I was given and be adaptable to our current world. Today, our world is diverse. We know and love people with different abilities, ethnicities, cultures, family dynamics, sexualities, and so many other things that make us unique. By donating to this cause, students will be able to see themselves in literature and feel even more included and loved in my classroom. This is something that I am passionate about for my students. Children deserve for their lives to be acknowledged in a way that many of us were not given the chance while we were in school. I strive for my students to belong. We acknowledge our differences, learn about them, and find ways to make everyone fit.
