Due to a lack of funding, not all students at my school are provided a graphing calculator in the mathematics classroom each day. This poses to be a major problem because many of our students come from low socioeconomic areas and cannot afford to purchase graphing calculators for themselves. Graphing calculators allow students to visualize the mathematics they are working on paper in a way that is only possible with technology. By ensuring that I am closer to having a full classroom set of calculators, it allows me to focus on my instruction and supplemental activities as opposed to ensuring the calculators are divided amongst the students each day.
