As a new kindergarten teacher, I am excited to introduce morning STEM tubs to my students. As students come into school each morning they will have the opportunity to choose a morning STEM activity. Morning STEM tubs will allow my students the opportunity to be problem solvers and engage in hands-on work in a meaningful and fun way! The materials I am requesting such as Magna-Tiles, LEGOs, a ZOOB Builder Kit, Playstix, an Engineer-A-Coaster Activity Kit, and the Pipe & Joint Construction Set, will all provide fun and authentic STEM learning through play and hands-on work. The Stand-Up Magnetic Write & Wipe Center will be utilized along with the Turn & Learn Magnetic Gears and rollercoaster set to provide students a place to create and build using problem solving and engineering skills. Students will be able to work independently or in small collaborative groups to build and use critical thinking skills with all these materials.
