We live in the Delta. Our students come from a very low socioeconomic area. Many of them are latch key kids who go home to an empty house. These kids are very energetic and they are eager to learn but engaging them isn't always the easiest thing to do. The children have very few positive role models to look up to and by allowing the teachers to become more a mentor and friend by having fun games and activities then bonds will be built to improve relationships.
