My scholars all come from diverse backgrounds. This includes their socioeconomic status, language background, and home lives. We have more than 50% of our students qualifying for free and reduced lunch in our school community and most of my students have never been in school before this year. Due to their diversity, they all have varying learning styles and bring different strengths to our classroom. They work together to make our class a family of learners. These scholars love to learn, read, and explore. As they grow in seeing themselves as learners, they gain confidence in themselves. My class of scholars are always interested in how they can make their learning their own. Every day, they grow stronger and more confident as learners and friends.
