As the speech-language Pathologist in the Brockton Public schools, I work with a wide range of students with varying abilities. All of the students come from a low socio-economic backgrounds and some have had traumatic experiences throughout their life. Most of them have specific learning styles and require visuals and information presented in several ways in order for them to comprehend and learn. Providing services can be a challenge without a whiteboard, projector or document camera to display the material they need to be exposed to clearly throughout the speech and language sessions. Without these electronic supplements to the speech room, the students do not receive the differentiated instruction they deserve and is stated on their individual education plan.
