Due to Covid-19 restrictions​, when my students return to school, they will not be allowed to sing in class for quite some time. These Ukuleles will add a new fundamental aspect of music that each student has not gotten the chance to receive yet. Having been able to play a recorder, malleted instruments, and non-pitched percussion instrument​s is a great experience that has heighten​ their musical outlook, but adding a string instrument to their repertoire will only give these students more access to music than they had before. Developing a Ukulele program will not only give these students an experience they have not had yet in music​,​ but will stimulate the different sides of their brains, help reinforce core classes, self-grow as musicians, and explore a new way of communication and self-expression. Music is a topic that breaks barriers in the classroom and out in the world. I want to give my students as many musical outlets, opportunities, and experiences as possible with their time with me at our elementary school.
