Maintaining focus for students during their independent work can be a significant challenge for ADHD students despite how active or engaging a learning activity is. Wobble stools allow a child to calmly move their bodies without distracting others. Flexible seating options such as wobble stools also will allow my students to be self-aware of what makes them successful. After seeing the way these wobble stools positively impacted my student's work time stamina during my student teaching, I would love to have four wobble stools for my own second graders this year. It would be helpful to have these stools during the first month of school so I can proactively have a solution for my students who may need more movement and introduce the stools with their purposes and expectations. As a first year teacher, I hope to utilize this seating option for years to come.
