I currently work as a special education teacher in a low income Chicago Public School. Due to city budget constraints, public education receives the brunt of this financial crisis. Each year, less and less funding is given to the public school system, which means teachers are spending hundreds of dollars of their own money to provide for class sizes of 30 plus students.
