The materials I am requesting are vital in bringing technology into PE. I know what you may be thinking, "Students should be moving during PE, not using technology". You are correct! This technology will aid in and motivate physical activity and a positive classroom environment. The iPad will help me better supply immediate feedback to aid students in accomplishing their physical education goals. Using the iPad, I can show show students their movement patterns and provide students with the opportunity to think critically about technique and self corrections. It will also allow for the interaction with video projections, which can be utilized in multiple units throughout the year. For example, during a volleyball unit, students can practice their bumping skills by not only practicing with a partner, but also passing the ball to a projected target. This not only gives the opportunity for students to practice live with another person, but also allows for students to work independently at a work station. Lastly, who doesn't like to work out with extra motivation? By allowing students to listen to music while exercising, students are less likely to become bored. Additionally, the quality of their exercise increases due to increased stamina and mood. An elevated mood, and overall class participation, provides for a more positive and inclusive learning environment.
