These books will be placed in the classroom library where students will be able to check-out a book each week. Each book was chosen based on the diversity of my students. With the new collection, my students will have a variety of books that showcase perseverance, determination, and self-efficacy. My hope is that by exposing my students to these concepts, they will become better leaders and citizens. The collection will also include books that are simply for the enjoyment of reading. Encouraging a child to reach their full potential and become a better citizen is the most important goal. As an educator today, often we rely heavily on testing to determine student success; however, by inspiring a child to unlock their potential far outweighs a test. One way to help my students reach their full potential is through reading. By reading more, my students will have the ability to further their reading comprehension and vocabulary using intriguing books at their grade level.
