My students love ART! They love to create, express themselves and discover talents they weren't aware they pose! In class, we incorporate art to the themes we learn about, such as our latest Martin Luther King Jr. and Chinese New Year. BUT with limited space, we have had to look for alternate places to dry our art such as on the rug, on shelves, bookshelves and even on student desks. I want to instill pride and value in the work they do; however, having them all around the class makes room for damaged art and limiting our rug time to due to our art spread across our rug to dry. By having an art rack, students will have a safe place to dry their art and an increased pride in their art work, just to have a centralized place to dry. My students take ownership of their work and talents. I want to provide a special space where they can care for their art and refer to it without having to worry about stepping or damaging art work. Having a drying art rack will help show how IMPORTANT their art is and continue to grow a love for expression through art.
