One of my favorite print and digital teaching and learning resources for literacy instruction is Scholastic's StoryWorks 3 magazine. I love this resource because it offers both digital and print resources for students, making it a great tool for both in-person and remote learning. Scholastic StoryWorks 3 includes fascinating, authentic texts that span a wide range of genres; these texts not only engage and empower students with their themes but can also be differentiated to reach all learners. Each monthly issue focuses on different reading and writing standards, and provides practice in different formats for students to develop and practice their reading comprehension, analytical thinking, vocabulary, and writing skills. StoryWorks understands that not all third graders read at the same level. The digital subscription provides the power to differentiate for these students by providing the same text at different levels for learners. Students find the reading selections engaging. Plus, they love the special features the digital subscription provides, such as background videos, vocabulary slideshows, and read-aloud capability. Unfortunately, this year, our school district’s budget for curriculum materials is limited. In order to get this all important resource into my students hands for this school year, I need some help. Please help me provide this invaluable resource to my students during these unprecedented times.
