Students in first grade are still learning about the world around them. The best way to discover the world is trying to experience it hands on. These STEM kits and Art supplies will help students learn valuable skills such as team building, problem solving, critical thinking, and fine motor skill. It also provides a way for students to build self confidence in their work. As students learn to work together and think critically it will affect all content areas in their education. STEM helps students learn to keep trying and to not give up when things get hard. When they start having trouble in other subjects like math or reading the will have already acquired the skills of persevering through their STEM and art projects. They will be able to tackle challenging problems in other content areas when they have also developed critical thinking skills. STEM also allows students to learn how to work in groups and talk with each other. This relationship building and communication skills helps with partner sharing in the classroom.
