I teach math and science to 22 4th grade and 25 5th grade ELL students at The Rice School/La Escuela Rice in Houston, Texas. Our school is part of the Houston Independent School District, the largest public school district in Texas and the 8th-largest in the USA. It is also a K-8 Title I school and a STEM Magnet school: we teach students from all over Houston. I am into my 26th year as an elementary school teacher. My administrators have always been very supportive, but our district and school have undergone and are undergoing budget cuts.
