Every morning, we have D.E.A.R. time. Students are required to drop everything and read for at least 15 minutes. My students read at different reading levels. Some students are beginner readers, while others are emergent readers. We have a limited selection of books in our classroom library, and most of them are too advanced. The students get frustrated and continue to struggle to read. With books at their reading levels, my students will learn to love to read! They will have a variety of books to choose from within their reading levels. They will also learn a lot more when they are able to decode and comprehend what they are reading.
