When I started teaching technology I was surprised to learn how little access students had to up-to-date technology. I want to bring as much new technology and web 2.0 applications into the classroom as I can to help my 5th and 6th graders learn about the digital world. I believe in teaching students by putting technology in their hands, letting them experiment, tinker and create new things using the engineering design process. My students are from a small rural town in Massachusetts, because of their working class roots, they are very hard working and self-motivated individuals. Many have used computers before entering my classroom, while others have limited technology at home. I am proud to say my students have a strong desire to learn and enjoy using technology in and out of the classroom and I hope to continue to inspire them to utilize all aspects of technology to their fullest potential.
