In an increasingly technologically-driven world, being well-versed in computers is becoming ever more important. Having a set of Chromebooks in my classroom will allow my students to gain valuable 21st century skills while encouraging collaboration, and increasing their success in the classroom. Students will learn content through engaging and interactive lessons and projects on the Chromebooks. In addition to teaching mathematics to all 5th grade students, I also teach science and social studies to my homeroom class. The Chromebooks will allow me to blend content areas so that students begin to see more value in why we teach what we teach through participation in projects on the Chromebooks. My students come from diverse backgrounds, some have never, or have seldom used a computer outside of school. Providing students with more access to technology will allow those students to gain valuable skills that their peers have already gained. Help my students gain access to 21st century skills while they engage in interactive lessons. High engagement yields higher success.
