I teach seventh and eighth grade literacy (reading and writing) at a high-needs, urban school. While our facilities are well kept, our supplies are running low, especially in this time of economic recession. Coupled with the heart-breaking fact that 95 percent of my students are eligible for Title 1 funding from the federal government, I am in a dire situation to find new and engaging books for my students, especially my boys.

About my class
