I've noticed how much more engaged the younger students become when they are connecting either to a puppet or with a puppet. Their communication skills improve dramatically. Also, I've seen puppets used effectively in conflict resolution processes. Sometimes younger students feel safer having a puppet say what they are afraid to say out loud. My students could really benefit from having fun tools like these to assist them in this trying time - getting at hard emotions and expressing what they need is extremely difficult right now. I want to give them a boost.
