My students come from low income homes and our school is a new school so we don't many resources. I am trying to build a community in our classroom where students can sit wherever they want during class. I feel that flex seating will greatly benefit my students. My students don't like to just sit in one spot, they like to move around. I don't have many places for my students to sit around our room. I would like the lap desks as a secondary desk for the students to sit around the classroom. We use small groups daily and my students like to sit around the room to focus on their work. I don't have anything they can use to sit on the floor, they can just sit at desks. I would also like wobble chairs. This will be used in the small groups that I have at my kidney table. I notice that a lot of my students have a hard time sitting and concentrating. If I have the wobble stools then they can fidget while we are learning. When we are not in small group students can request to use the seat during other lessons. I feel that my students are deserving of these new additions to our room. They are not use to getting exciting new things in our classroom. I know they will beyond appreciate it. I also feel that these new lap desk and wobble stools will improve their focus and learning.
