My elementary school has "a little bit of everything." We are a Title I school, tucked away in a community of diverse individuals and families. In addition, we are an I.B. World School, that strives to teach the values of international mindedness, and that supports global learning. We are also a Spanish dual language campus. Prekindergarten is a half-day program in my district. I have two sets of scholars each day, including twenty in the morning, and twenty-nine in the afternoon. Overall, I have 49 scholars, from 10 different countries, speaking over a dozen languages. Some are bilingual, while others are very new to the English language. I have twins, cousins, and friends, children with allergies, special needs, children with four parents, and some who are lucky to have one. These children walked into my classroom with a wide range of abilities, and each is unique in their own way. Even though they call me "the teacher," they are teaching me more than I've ever dreamed.
