My school is a small school in a low socioeconomic area, with 100% of our students getting free lunch. Despite the economic challenges, our school provides a safe nurturing environment for all of our students. Many of our parents and students come to our school not speaking English and they are afforded the opportunity to take English classes in our spectacular parent center. Every teacher, support staff, and administrator seeks to provide a highly effective, rigorous, and supporting environment for every student. My class is a Structured English Immersion class with twenty hard-working and enthusiastic students. My families make working with their child and helping them to succeed a priority in their life. My students deserve the chance to fully access the curriculum and experience all subject areas in a new and exciting fashion. For many of my students this would be their first opportunity to use a computer. Imagine how excited my students would be learning with a laptop?!
