I teach in a Special Education Classroom, my students all need different sensory modes to learn. Some prefer to walk around, sit on the ground, stand and some rock. By providing these alternative seating options my students can learn in an environment that is most conducive to them. Alternative seating such a Bean Bag Chairs, sofas, tables that allow them to stand, carpets to allow floor seating, floor rocker chairs, allows students to remove the body factor from their learning. It allows them to be comfortable and to get their wiggles out, while staying focused on their school work. By adding lamps instead of overhead lights, it provides the students with a calmer environment and helps my students with sensory needs to focus on the work before them instead of the distraction of fluorescent lights. Thank you in advance for your help in providing my students with what they need to be a success in school.
