One of my major goals as a teacher is to create the type of classroom where every student feels comfortable and safe. As our school community transitions from fully virtual to hybrid/blended learning in the midst of COVID-19, this comfort and safety has come to encompass our shared learning environment in a new way, down to the actual air we breathe. Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a great reference point to remind us that meeting a person's physical and security needs is at the foundation of creating a lifelong learner who is empowered to reach his or her potential. Help me put theory into best practice! We need a really great air purifier (which will benefit many in my open concept setting) and clear desk shields for my classroom! Thanks!
