Flexible seating allows students to work in a group or independently at their comfort level. A lot of students don't like sitting in their seat all day; I know I don't! We have tile flooring in our classroom which is uncomfortable to sit on after a few minutes. Carpets and other flexible seating options would vastly improve my students attention span, comfort levels, and overall learning process. When students are able to make choices in their learning, especially with how they learn (such as seating), they are more motivated and successful in the classroom. I want all of my students to push their limits and achieve as much as they can. With a more comfortable learning environment, the limits are boundless.
