I have been teaching math since 2010 at Colleton County High School. I have had to privilege to be part of Project Based Learning in Cougar New Tech since 2013. Cougar New Tech is a school-within-a-school model that encourages students to work in teams to problem solve and use critical thinking skills to ask relevant and meaningful questions. Colleton County High School is located in a high poverty area. We are part of a Title I district. Regardless of where we are or what we have, my students are nothing short of amazing. We are truly a family and the kids in my room are "my kids".
