I teach in an urban city and many of my students do not have everything that they need. As an educator of urban students, I make it my goal to give my students the best eight hours that I possibly can. I pride myself on creating a positive environment where my students feel comfortable enough to learn and even make mistakes. We tell each other that we love one another. I always make a point of telling each of my students that I love them because they are the best part of my day. My students are eager. They are eager to learn and know about everything and anything. They are also a very spirited bunch. They love any excuse to dress up and be a character. I try to integrate their interests into my lessons so they are more engaged when learning. Lastly, my students are hilarious! They are always cracking jokes and trying to make me and their peers smile. We love to laugh, but even more importantly, we love to learn from our lessons and each other.
